A little glimpse into our 3-Day Jin Shin Jyutsu Special Topic — Fascia
Share
We recently gathered for a very special 3-Day Fascia Workshop with Anita Willoughby and for those who were able to join us, what a beautiful few days we shared together.
And for those who couldn’t make it this time, we wanted to share a little glimpse into the feeling of the weekend because it really was one of those gatherings where something quietly magical unfolded in the room.
There was such a beautiful mix of curiosity, openness, insight, laughter, stillness, deep listening, and those wonderful moments where pieces suddenly clicked into place. Every person brought something unique to the experience, and together it became far more than a workshop. It became a living exploration of fascia, flow, movement, touch, breath, and connection.

One of the highlights was surely the now-famous lumbar circle rumba, equal parts fascia exploration and interpretive dance. Huge thanks to Tim, Mary, Kay, Mirjana and Zoe for wholeheartedly embodying the movement (and giving the rest of us something to smile about for the remainder of the weekend). Definitely deserving of photographic evidence if anyone captured the moment!
It was also wonderful to welcome Deanne Hall Coffey, Sandy Smith and Jennifer Holmes into the space with us across the 3 days.

A special thank you to Anita for so generously sharing her knowledge, experience, humour, and presence with us. So many people commented on how accessible she made such profound material, and how quickly the room settled into that lovely feeling of safety, curiosity, and shared learning.

One of the quotes that stayed with me following the special topic:
“Fascia is the biological fabric upon which our life story is written.”
And perhaps that’s why this work can feel so profound because when we touch fascia, movement, breath, and flow, we are often touching memory, holding patterns, protection, emotion, and possibility all at once.
To those newer to Jin Shin Jyutsu, thank you for trusting the process and jumping in so openly. This work can sometimes feel beautifully simple and wildly expansive at the same time. Trust your own rhythm with it. There is no rush. The art unfolds layer by layer.
As Mary Burmeister shared:
“In Jin Shin Jyutsu there are no teachers or masters… Be the example.”
Perhaps the invitation now is simply to continue:
holding fingers,
sharing flows,
listening to the body,
and allowing movement where movement is ready to happen.
And finally thank you again for helping create such a warm, engaged, generous group. It really did feel like something special unfolded.
To those who missed it this time, we hope you can feel a little of the spirit of the gathering through the photos and reflections and hopefully we’ll share space together at a future class soon.
Keep flowing.
Warmly,
Amelia, Amy & Lisette
