Lisette's Summery of Our Auckland Basic Seminar

Lisette's Summery of Our Auckland Basic Seminar

Over two rich weekends, our JSJ 5-Day Basic Seminar brought together a beautiful blend of connection, community, and deep learning. We welcomed new faces — Marilyn, Andrea, and Zoe — alongside four dedicated students completing their third seminar: Mary, Lesley, Amelia, and Amy, and now being Certified Practitioners!  Each stepping into what's ahead with a strong sense of confidence, clarity, and accomplishment.

A highlight of the seminar was the extraordinary partnership between our two instructors, Jennifer Holmes and Sandy Smith. Their ability to weave their knowledge, experience, and perspectives together created a learning environment that was both grounded and expansive. Jennifer’s depth of insight and calm clarity paired beautifully with Sandy’s warmth, wisdom, and intuitive approach. Together, they drew out the essence of Jin Shin Jyutsu with grace — complementing each other in a way that made the teachings land deeply and naturally for everyone in the room.

Across the five days, the group explored the foundations of Jin Shin Jyutsu through shared experience, curiosity, and heartfelt support for one another. The power of the body readings stood out — revealing the stories held within the body and offering a new sense of understanding. Time on the table provided spaciousness and integration, those quiet moments where the art truly settles into the body and becomes a lived experience.

As always, the real magic was in the people: the friendships formed, the openness in learning together, and the feeling of being part of something larger than ourselves. It was a seminar filled with insight, laughter, stillness, and genuine connection — a reminder of the strength of community in this beautiful art.
