It's a Wrap! October Basic Seminar 2026

What a wonderful five days of Jin Shin Jyutsu!

Our October JSJ 5-Day Basic Seminar brought together a beautiful blend of new beginnings, deep experience, shared wisdom and genuine connection. Five consecutive days of immersion in this extraordinary art, with Jennifer Holmes and Sandy Smith guiding us throughout.

We welcomed seven new students, with participants travelling from Germany, Australia, Nelson, the Waikato and beyond. Some were discovering Jin Shin Jyutsu for the first time, while others arrived with a vision of incorporating the art into their lives and even creating their own businesses and practitioner pathways.

Alongside them were our returning students and reviewers.   What a gift to have such a breadth of knowledge in one room — from those just beginning their journey to those who have been living and practising the art for decades. Everyone had something to offer, and something new to discover.

A special congratulations to Silke Radde, who completed her third 5-Day Basic Seminar, an important milestone on the pathway - and now a Certified Jin Shin Jyutsu Practitioner. A wonderful achievement!

The Art of Teaching Together

Once again, a highlight was the beautiful partnership between our two instructors, Jennifer and Sandy. Their ability to weave their knowledge, experience and perspectives together created a learning environment that was both grounded and expansive.

Jennifer's depth of insight and calm clarity paired beautifully with Sandy's warmth, wisdom and intuitive approach. Together, they brought the teachings to life, making even the more complex aspects of Jin Shin Jyutsu accessible, meaningful and deeply personal.

A Very Special Thank You to Jennifer Holmes

This seminar was particularly meaningful as it marked Jennifer's final 5-Day Basic Seminar as an instructor.

Jennifer is a living example of Jin Shin Jyutsu. She doesn't simply teach the art — she embodies it. Her presence, her gentle wisdom, her humility and her deep understanding reflect the very essence of what Jin Shin Jyutsu invites us to be.

There is something extraordinary about the way Jennifer shares her knowledge. Never needing to make things complicated, she brings us back to simplicity, awareness and trust in the art. Her teaching goes far beyond the flows and the textbooks — it is in the way she listens, observes, connects and holds space for each person.

Over the years, Jennifer has touched so many lives, inspiring students and practitioners to deepen their understanding, trust their intuition and, perhaps most importantly, live the art.

Jennifer, thank you. For the years of dedication, the generosity with which you have shared your knowledge, the countless students you have inspired and the beautiful example you continue to be.

While this may be your final 5-Day Seminar, the wisdom you have shared and the lives you have touched will continue to ripple through our Jin Shin Jyutsu community for many years to come.

We are deeply grateful. What a privilege it has been to learn from you.

Five Days of Discovery

Across the five days, we explored the foundations of Jin Shin Jyutsu through body reading, pulse listening, hands-on practice and the sharing of experiences.

The body readings were particularly powerful, revealing the stories held within the body and opening new layers of awareness and understanding. Time on the tables offered the opportunity to experience the art rather than simply learn about it — those quiet moments where understanding moves beyond the mind and settles into the body.

There was something particularly special about being together for five consecutive days. The continuity allowed the learning, relationships and experiences to build naturally, creating a wonderful sense of connection and shared discovery.

The Magic of Community

As always, the real magic was in the people.

The generosity of our experienced students, the enthusiasm and curiosity of those just beginning, the conversations over breaks, the laughter, the friendships and the willingness to share and learn from one another.

It was a beautiful reminder that Jin Shin Jyutsu is not simply something we study or practise — it is an art we live, share and continue to discover, no matter how many years we have been involved.

We leave with new friendships, deeper understanding, renewed inspiration and a wonderful sense of what is possible.

And perhaps the greatest gift Jennifer leaves us with is the reminder that Jin Shin Jyutsu is not just something we do — it is something we become.

With gratitude,

Jin Shin Jyutsu New Zealand
